Our Values
-
Above all else we aim to honour the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ and seek His glory. We see work through the lens of the gospel of Jesus, specifically:
- The means by which God loves and cares for his world [through us].
- All well-done work that serves the good of human beings pleases God.
- Regarding success and failure, the gospel helps Christians find their deepest identity not in our accomplishments, but who we are in Christ. This keeps our egos from inflating too much during seasons of prosperity, and it prevents bitterness and despondency during times of adversity.
- Ethical guidance (moral compass) that takes us beyond merely the legal aspects or requirements in any situation.
-
Values its people, including the Founder(s), and aims to create a positive, constructive and transparent environment where people can thrive and do great work.
-
Says no to so-called “bonus” schemes. Employee remuneration should not be “at risk”. Principle of fair pay for fair work. Although tangible (public / peer) celebration of team (and individual) efforts and achievements are a priority.
-
Continuous people development; ongoing learning is essential, valued and prioritised (with tangential interests encouraged - including personal goals / wellness).
-
Truly recognises and values differences and different people, ways of working etc. People are given responsibility with appropriate accountability.
-
Active contributions to open source projects. We aim to give back to the Community over time - both time, code, advocacy, sponsorship - continuing to build on the shoulders of others.
-
Competition of ideas never egos - recognition we all have contributions to make and we ALL make mistakes regularly (acknowledgement of fundamental brokenness of individuals).
